Doyle Dykes bedient seine Taylor, als hätte er nie etwas anderes getan (immerhin hat er nie mit einem Plektrum gespielt). Von mitreißenden Country-Titeln über Latin-Anwandlungen, von feinem Impressionismus bis hin zu rockig-donnernden Crescendi ist er dabei, der amerikanischen Fingerpicking-Gitarre neue Wege zu eröffnen - in Stil, Präzision und Spielfreude. 1999 gab es für ihn in Frankfurt schon deutlich mehr Platz als im Vorjahr - er trat ganz offiziell am Taylor-Stand auf. Was andere aber oft als lästiges Pflichtprogramm auffassen, verwandelt Doyle Dykes mit der inneren Kraft eines Menschen, der andere Werte als Ruhm und Geld schätzt, in unvergessliche Sternstunden. "Das Talent eines Menschen ist größer als er selbst. Deshalb sollte man nicht großspurig werden oder nur spielen, um reich zu werden. Das kann zwar auch passieren - aber wenn nicht, dann sollte man seine Musik eben verschenken und Menschen glücklich machen
