Michael Langer studierte in Wien klassische Gitarre und hält inzwischen selbst eine Professur an der Anton Bruckner Privat-Universität in Linz und am Konservatorium in Wien.
So viel geballtes Talent und Musikalität verhallen nicht ungehört. Bluesgitarrist Hans Theesink („…ich habe sein Potential sofort erkannt…") produzierte die Debut-CD des Österreichers.
Auch in den USA ist Langer erfolgreich. 1989 war er Sieger des „American Fingerstyle Guitar Festival" in Milwaukee und bekam 1993 von der weltweit größten Gitarrenzeitschrift, dem amerikanischen „Guitar Player" den Titel „bester Acoustic-Fingerstyle Gitarrist".
